Pricing
of custom made stained glass is determined by:

A rough estimate is $75 to $150 per
square foot. Some more complex high end Tiffany style reproduction types will
be higher. Measure in inches the length and width of the piece you want.
Multiply length times width to get area in square inches. Divide by 144 to
convert from square inches to square feet. For example, for a piece 8 inches by
10 inches, area is 8”X10” = 80 square inches, converted to square feet by 80/144
= .56 square feet.
Ordering
First the customer sends a photo, sketch, or
explains what they would like to incorporate into a personalized glass picture.
Some things are given, will always look the
same, such as: a button, a bar of soap, a music note. These do not have to be
drawn or photographed, you only need to ask, and I will know things that always
look the same.
After I receive your wishes, I put them all
together and draw up a colored sketch. I send it to you for editing. I will
make changes and send you another sketch for your approval, up to two times.
Once we have agreed on the picture and its
content, size and shape, I send you a price.
If you just want a picture for beauty, no
personalizing, just send a picture or a sketch and I will build it.
I have made many pictures to fit a certain
window or side panels on each side of a door, which can be installed, just like
a common window. However, the
outside of the glass will weather just like any window.
My son has a 6 X 3 foot stained glass window
that has been there for years with no problems. The large windows use heavy
metal reinforcement strips incorporated into the longest lines. Usually
the stained glass window is installed inside the existing window, using the
existing window as a storm window.
The larger the glass, the more expensive it is
to ship. Customer pays all shipping and insurance costs.
